Portrait in Norsk litteraturkritikks historie, I, p.237
Clergyman and critic. Allegedly the first person in Norway to review a contemporary woman's writing. Argued that women could and should write (although not meddle with the sciences). In his article on Hanna Winsnes he names seven other examples of 'brilliant' women : Mme de Staël, Baroness Krüdener, Baroness de la Motte Fouqué, Countess de Genlis, Mme Cottin, Frances Trollope, Frederika Bremer, 'and more'.
