Aino Malmberg married teacher Emil Malmberg soon after her matriculation examination. The marriage ended up in a divorce, wchih was untypical at that time. Malmberg wrote novels, memoirs and travel literature and worked as a translator. During the period of oppression in Finland she was active in resistance movement and smuggled prohibited literature to Finland. When fleeing the Soviet secret police Malmberg moved to London. While living there she made many lecturing trips. 1915 she moved to America and 1918 temporarily to Finland. 1920 she moved back tol London and worked as a unofficial diplomat. Jwapr14
