"occupies a unique position in the history of Dutch philosophy. She was probably the first woman to publish a work on logic, Logica of Redenkunde (1770). [.../.] One striking feature is Van Lynden's rejection of the Lockean idea of the mind as a tabula rasa. Ideas in the mind such as infinity cannot be extracted from the senses, and therefore human beings must have innate knowledge. The way she integrates her philosophical and religious standpoints into her examples is remarkable. [..] She does not elaborate on the content of [the] proposition, but her views are obvious."
