Laimi Leidenius become the first female professor in the university of Helsinki 1930 (she was professor of gynecology and obstetrics). Leidenius defended her doctoral thesis 1913. Later she became a docent. Leidenius had also teacher's education. She studied a lot abroad. Leidenius emphasized the meaning of disinfection and hygiene in labour. She was also along planning "Naistenklinikka" (Women's hospital in Helsinki). JWaug14
