Provisional Notes Laimi Leidenius become the first female professor in the university of Helsinki 1930 (she was professor of gynecology and obstetrics). Leidenius defended her doctoral thesis 1913. Later she became a docent. Leidenius had also teacher's education. She studied a lot abroad. Leidenius emphasized the meaning of disinfection and hygiene in labour. She was also along planning "Naistenklinikka" (Women's hospital in Helsinki). JWaug14
