Provisional Notes Born in Zutphen (22-08-1831), died in Velp (Gelderland) (01-04-1915). Spent considerable amounts of time in Germany. Was a cigar smoker. Correspondence with publisher Bohn 1878 (UB Leiden Dousa) HOVO Utrecht 2013 Published in periodical press: - Tijdspiegel 1860, 1864, 1875, 1895 - Onze Roeping 1870, 1871, 1873 - Nederland - De Amsterdammer - Ons Streven (cf. Jensen, "Bij uitsluiting voor de vrouwelijke sekse geschikt", 2001, p. 259) Probably already abroad in 1870, because in an open letter, she does not refer to activities in this field by eg. Mienette Storm-van der Chijs (founding of the Industrieschool voor meisjes in Amsterdam). Hogeweg: Wrote under pseudonym Celestine until 1870, after this under her own name - large production. (7) "Zij schreef bepaald niet uitsluitend voor haar plezier." She wrote in order to finance her travels: "'Daar heb ik behoefte aan'" (Hogeweg 8) 10 "In 1876 is CvR, na een verblijf van vele jaren in Duitsland, naar Nederland teruggekeerd" Editor of a series, Bibliotheek van Ned.Schrijfsters (Library of Dutch Women Writers), for Bohn. cf L.Kuitert, Het debacle van een negentiende-eeuwse vrouwenreeks, in Literatuur (18) 2001, p.150-158 (Only Dutch authors were incorporated; the series was unsuccessful, due to a lack of literary quality. (158)) Published about music and composed music herself as well, not without public success. Congratulated Aletta Jacobs on obtaining her doctorate, and offered to write an article about her (Bosch, 2005, p. 146). Pictures in Letterkundig Museum, The Hague Correspondence in the Letterkundig Museum in The Hague. It's possible she lived in Darmstadt, Germany for a while. Letters sent from there are written in a relatively short time period, thus it's possible she took a long vacation there. (GR0614)
