Born in Østfold, she was the daughter of merchant and farmer Paul Fredrik Birkenbusch Prydz and Signe Nicoline Lund. Unmarried. Worked as a governess at Hitra for three years. Took care of the house for her father for 16-17 years.
Wrote books, plays and short stories. Achieved success with the novel Gunvor Thorsdatter til Hærø (1896).
